Arsene Wenger: 'Outcome of FA Cup final has no influence over my Arsenal future'

Arsene Wenger insists that the outcome of the FA Cup final on Saturday will not influence his future as Arsenal manager.

Arsene Wenger has insisted that he will remain Arsenal manager even if his team fail to beat Hull City in the FA Cup final on Saturday.

The North London outfit are firm favourites to lift the trophy at Wembley and end a nine-year wait for silverware.

The Frenchman's future has been a talking point throughout the season, but widespread reports have claimed that Wenger will sign a new contract at the Emirates sooner rather than later.

The 64-year-old wrote in his Eurosport column: "The result of Saturday's FA Cup final will have no influence on my future at Arsenal. When I've been part of a club for 18 years, it would be a bit ridiculous to base my decision on one single match, don't you think?

"Will I be the manager next season? Yes, normally. It's not completely finalised yet, but it should happen. But it's true that I am very proud of the team's attitude, because they have been through very tough moments. And they have always answered scrutiny with positive thinking."

The Gunners finished the Premier League season in fourth place, seven points behind champions Manchester City.
