Arsene Wenger: 'No urgency over Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez futures'

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger calms fears over the futures of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, who both have just two years remaining on their contracts.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has insisted that there is no need for the club's fans to worry about the futures of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.

The midfielders both have just two years remaining on their current contracts, and supporters have raised concerns over whether the club will be able to keep hold of them should they miss out on Champions League football this term.

However, Wenger has played down those concerns and revealed that his priorities currently lie elsewhere.

"They have no reason to be concerned," he told reporters.

"We keep that internally. We make progress always, but it is not always a quick process. They still have two years contract and there is no urgency as well.

"At the moment we have priorities, and most of the time contract extensions are done outside the window because it gives you a bit more time and focus on that."

Arsenal will begin the new Premier League season at home to Liverpool on Sunday.
