Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes that Patrick Vieira has all the credentials needed to become a successful manager.
The 38-year-old, who is one of Wenger's former captains at Arsenal, is currently the manager of Manchester City's elite development squad.
Recent speculation over the future of City manager Manuel Pellegrini has seen the Frenchman touted as a potential successor to the Chilean to the Etihad Stadium.
When asked about the possibility of Vieira replacing Pellegrini, Wenger told ITV Sport: "I believe like many other players he has the intelligence and the competence to do this job.
"But I believe that Pellegrini is of super-competence and super-quality as well - so if you want me to interfere in that, I am not ready to do it."
Vieira would reportedly have the backing of the City players should he become their next manager.
