Ian Wright: 'Carl Jenkinson should be given chance at Arsenal'

Arsenal legend says that defender Carl Jenkinson deserves a second opportunity to make an impact at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has called on manager Arsene Wenger to give Carl Jenkinson a place in his first-team squad next season.

After being used as a bit-part player during his first three seasons in North London, Jenkinson has spent the last two years on loan at West Ham United and had been making an impression at Upton Park until he was sidelined with a knee injury.

The 24-year-old is still recovering from the setback that occurred in January, but Wright wants Wenger to allow Jenkinson to compete with Hector Bellerin for the right-back position at the Emirates Stadium.

Jenkinson has made a total of 57 appearances in all competitions for Arsenal.
