Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is reportedly not interested in signing Axel Disasi from Reims and instead wants to focus on landing Pablo Mari on a permanent deal.

Arsenal reportedly do not intend to pursue a £13m deal for Reims defender Axel Disasi.

The Gunners were rumoured to be prepared to rival Lille for the 22-year-old's signature following his impressive displays in Ligue 1 this term.

According to The Athletic, however, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta would rather go after a left-footed centre-back during the next transfer window.

That could allegedly see the North London outfit focus on turning Pablo Mari's loan spell from Flamengo into a permanent deal.

Mari arrived at the Emirates Stadium in January and made two appearances before the coronavirus-enforced shutdown.
