Rio Ferdinand: 'Arsenal, Liverpool should have signed Ashley Williams'

Rio Ferdinand suggests that Arsenal or Liverpool should have signed Swansea City defender Ashley Williams.

Rio Ferdinand has suggested that Arsenal or Liverpool should have signed Swansea City defender Ashley Williams.

The 31-year-old has played a key role for Wales as they stand on the brink of Euro 2016 qualification, helping the team to keep six clean sheets from their seven qualifiers so far.

Former Manchester United centre-back Ferdinand has claimed that Williams is an underrated player.

"Just watching the Wales boys. how Arsenal or Lfc [Liverpool] haven't gone for Ashley Williams last few years is beyond me. Better than what they have bought," Ferdinand wrote on Twitter.

Williams joined Swansea from Stockport County in 2008.
