Diego Godin travels with Atletico Madrid to Portugal

Diego Godin is selected in Atletico Madrid's 20-man squad for Tuesday's Champions League clash with Porto despite fears he would miss out with a knee injury.

Uruguayan centre-back Diego Godin has been selected in Atletico Madrid's 20-man squad for Tuesday's Champions League clash with Porto in Portugal.

It had been feared that the defender could miss out after suffering a knee injury in Saturday's 1-0 win over Real Madrid in La Liga, but coach Diego Simeone has named the 27-year-old in the travelling party.

Thibaut Courtois also picked up a slight finger injury in the Madrid derby at the weekend, but the on-loan Chelsea goalkeeper is expected to start between the sticks.

However, the Spanish outfit will be without their top scorer Diego Costa, with the striker serving the final match of his European suspension.

Atletico squad in full:

Courtois, Aranzubia; Juanfran, Manquillo, Miranda, Godin, Alderweireld, Gimenez, Luis, Insua; Gabi, Tiago, Guilavogui, Oliver, Koke, Rodriguez, Garcia, Turan; Baptistao, Villa
