Barcelona midfielder Xavi has insisted that Neymar has the ability to inspire the Spanish club this season.

Neymar, 21, joined the Catalan outfit from Santos this summer, but has been forced to settle for a spot on the bench in the early stages of the campaign.

"He's a player who can really make a difference," Xavi told the club's official website.

"He's a quiet guy, he's only young, but he shows a lot of intelligence. The boss is bringing him in slowly, and he's showing his worth."

Xavi, who is in his 15th season with Barcelona, has won 21 different titles with the club.
