Team News: Dani Alves misses out for Barcelona

Dani Alves drops out of the Barcelona starting XI for their La Liga clash with Valencia at Camp Nou.

Barcelona manager Luis Enrique has left Dani Alves out of the starting XI for this evening's La Liga clash with Valencia at Camp Nou.

The Brazilian right-back drops to the bench as Sergi Roberto comes into the team in one of just two changes from the side that was knocked out of the Champions League on Wednesday night.

The other switch sees Claudio Bravo return in goal as Enrique largely keeps faith with the team that was beaten by Atletico Madrid at the Vicente Calderon.

That means that Neymar, Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi all start once again, with the latter still looking for the 500th senior goal of his glittering career.

Valencia, who ended a four-match losing streak in the league last time out, name Rodrigo as their starting striker for the afternoon, with Alvaro Negredo and Paco Alcacer both having to settle for a place on the bench.

The only change from the team that beat Sevilla sees Enzo Perez come into a five-man midfield as Los Che look to avoid a repeat of the 7-0 drubbing they suffered on their last visit to Camp Nou.

Barcelona: Bravo; Roberto, Mascherano, Pique, Alba; Busquets, Iniesta, Rakitic; Neymar, Messi, Suarez
Subs: Ter Stegen, Douglas Pereira, Alves, Bartra, Munir, Adriano, Vidal

Valencia: Alves; Barragan, Mustafi, Abdennour, Siqueira; Parejo, Perez, Fuego, Mina, Gomes; Rodrigo
Subs: Cancelo, Santos, Negredo, Alcacer, Danilo, Gaya, Ryan
