How Bayern Munich could line up against Freiburg

Sports Mole takes a look at how Bayern Munich could line up in Saturday's Bundesliga clash with Freiburg.

Bayern Munich will be looking for their fourth straight win in all competitions when they welcome Freiburg to the Allianz Arena on Saturday afternoon.

Bayern appear to have turned a corner in recent weeks, winning their last four against Wolfsburg, AEK Athens, Mainz 05 and Rodinghausen following a disappointing run of results.

Bayern still trail Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga table, however, and will be looking to collect all three points against 11th-placed Freiburg this weekend.

Here, Sports Mole takes a look at how the German champions could line up at the Allianz Arena.


BAY XI

Out: Thiago (ankle), Corentin Tolisso (knee), Kingsley Coman (ankle)

Arjen Robben is available for Bayern following a domestic suspension, and the experienced attacker is expected to start in a wide position.

There will be no Thiago for the German giants this weekend, however, with the Spaniard picking up an ankle injury during the DFB Pokal clash with Rodinghausen on Tuesday night.

Robert Lewandowski was left out altogether during the week, but the Pole will return to the tip of the attack for this match, which is expected to see Thomas Muller and Franck Ribery both drop to the bench.

Serge Gnabry should also start in a forward position for Bayern, with James Rodriguez and Leon Goretzka joining Javi Martinez in the middle of the park.

Joshua Kimmich is also expected to return to the XI at right-back, with Mats Hummels also starting in a defensive position.
