Jurgen Klopp: 'I could take a year out'

Jurgen Klopp says that he may take a year away from football as he prepares to leave Borussia Dortmund.

Outgoing Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp has revealed that he could take a year-long sabbatical from football in the summer.

The 47-year-old announced that he would be calling time on his seven-year stay at Signal Iduna Park at the end of the season, prompting speculation over where his next move could be.

Manchester City have been linked as a potential destination as the pressure mounts on under-fire Manuel Pellegrini, but Klopp says that a year away from the sport is a possibility.

"I have absolutely no time to think about my future," he told reporters after Satuday's 3-0 win over Paderborn in the Bundesliga.

"And it's not really important right now. I want to bring my time here to an end. Everything is possible.

"My staff and I could rest for one year. But at this time nobody knows what will happen."

Second-half goals from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Shinji Kagawa sealed the win for eighth-placed Dortmund.
