Brentford want Martin Jol to succeed Mark Warburton?

Brentford want former Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham boss Martin Jol to become their next head coach, according to a report.

Brentford reportedly want to appoint former Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham boss Martin Jol as their new head coach.

The Dutchman has been out of work since being sacked by Fulham in December 2013.

Brentford will be looking for a new manager this summer after making the surprising decision to part ways with Mark Warburton, and The Sun reports that Jol has emerged as the leading candidate.

The Bees are looking to adopt a new coaching structure, despite Warburton taking them into the Championship playoffs this season just a year after guiding them out of League One.

The 59-year-old is seen as an experienced option, having managed Spurs for three years between 2004 and 2007 and Fulham for two seasons.

Jol has also managed Ajax and Hamburg during his career.
