Brighton secured a much-needed three points with a 2-1 win over Coventry on Saturday afternoon.
Brighton eased the tension in the ground after barely seven minutes when Craig Mackail-Smith found the corner from inside the penalty box, albeit via a huge deflection off Richard Keogh.
Coventry found themselves back on level terms moments later, however, when on-loan Aston Villa star Gary Gardner headed home from close range.
Brighton grew into the half and took the lead once more after 37 minutes when Romain Vincelot found the corner with a header from close range.
The home side continued to push for the third in the second period but to no avail with Coventry remaining solid at the back.
The result moves Brighton to within one point of the play-offs while Coventry remain in the bottom three.
