Preview: Brommapojkarna vs. Degerfors - prediction, team news, lineups

Sports Mole previews Saturday's Swedish Allsvenskan clash between Brommapojkarna and Degerfors, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

Round 14 of the 2023 Swedish Allsvenskan season sees Brommapojkarna entertain the challenge of Degerfors at Grimsta IP on Saturday afternoon.

Having both been beaten in their respective last outings, the teams head into this weekend's meeting aiming to return to winning ways as quickly as possible.

Match preview

Aiming to bounce back from consecutive league losses, Brommapojkarna fell to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of AIK in Saturday's encounter between the teams.

A first-half double from Rui Modesto left Olof Mellberg's men with a mountain to climb, which ultimately turned out to be an unassailable task.

Consequently, the Stockholm-based outfit have dropped down to eighth in the Swedish Allsvenskan table, 10 points behind the last European spot.

Lying in store next is the task of facing off against an opposing outfit who have come out on top in each of the most recent three editions of this fixture.

Off the back of defeats in each of their last two home matches, Saturday's hosts will be keen to give their fans reason to cheer this time around.

Degerfors were beaten for the third game running in a disappointing 2-0 defeat against IFK Varnamo at Stora Valla on Saturday afternoon.

Tobias Solberg's men fell behind to Albion Ademi's first-half opener after which Hampus Nasstrom put the result beyond doubt nine minutes from time.

With 11 points picked up from 14 matches so far, Bruket sit 13th in the standings, just a point outside the relegation zone approaching the midway point of the season.

Currently on a run of six straight away defeats, Saturday's visitors will be wary of coming away empty-handed from another outing on the road.

Team News

Nikola Djurdjic and De Pievre Ilunga are both guaranteed absentees for Degerfors, while Dijan Vukojevic also misses out through a torn muscle.

Oscar Wallin is currently stepping up his recovery from an ankle injury, but Saturday's game is expected to come too soon for the 21-year-old.

Rebin Sulaka has missed Brommapojkarna's last six games through injury, and the Iraq international remains sidelined for the home side.

Despite failing to find the back of the net in each of his last four matches, Oscar Pettersson is in line to feature up front once again.

Brommapojkarna possible starting lineup:
Sidklev; Sogaard, Ackermann, Lysaker; Jensen, Leach, Fritzson, Waker; Cosic, Vasic, Pettersson

Degerfors possible starting lineup:
Rossbach; Gyau, Ohlsson, Korac, Granath, Bouzaiene; Gravius, Orqvist, Morfelt; Lindgren, Gwargis

SM words green background

We say: Brommapojkarna 3-1 Degerfors

Degerfors have been defensively suspect all-season long, and Brommapojkarna will be looking to exploit their visitors' frailties at the back. We can see the home team securing a routine win come the sound of the final whistle.
