Report: Ronaldinho, Juan Roman Riquelme to come out of retirement for Chapecoense

Reports suggest that South American legends Ronaldinho and Juan Roman Riquelme have agreed to come out of retirement to play for Chapecoense free of charge.

South American legends Ronaldinho and Juan Roman Riquelme have reportedly offered to come out of retirement to play for Chapecoense.

Players and officials from the Brazilian club were among 71 passengers killed in a plane crash on Monday night in Colombia.

Chapecoense lost 19 players when their plane crashed en route to Medellin as they were making their way to play in the final of the Copa Sudamericana, throwing the world of football into mourning.

According to The Sun, Ronaldinho and Riquelme have offered to play for the Serie A club for free in a bid to help them fulfil the last fixture of the season, against Atletico Mineiro.

Riquelme, who last played for Argentinos Juniors in 2014, has won Argentina's Footballer of the Year award four times, while Ronaldinho was crowned the world's best player in 2004 and 2005.
