Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has insisted that defender John Terry enjoys the challenge of trying to earn a new contract at Stamford Bridge.
Terry's current deal at the club expires at the end of the season with the Blues only offering 12-month contracts to players over a certain age, but Mourinho has hinted that the long-serving centre-back will receive an extension in the near future.
The 52-year-old told reporters: "He accepts our policy of going year-to-year and he accepts it with a smile and as a challenge.
"Last season he won the challenge and got an extension, and this year he is winning it again."
Terry has scored five times in 34 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions during the current campaign.
