West Ham United are reportedly confident that they will eventually sign Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma.
With the European champions keen to sign Jules Kounde from Sevilla, Zouma has been made available for transfer by head coach Thomas Tuchel.
The Hammers are willing to meet the asking price of the France international, said to be in the region of £25m and £30m.
According to the Evening Standard, West Ham officials are also now optimistic that they will be able to agree personal terms with the 26-year-old.
Zouma, who wishes to remain in London over being used in any proposal involving Kounde, is said to be demanding in excess of £100,000 per week.
Premier League leaders West Ham are under pressure to make new additions ahead of their participation in the Europa League group stages.
