Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway admits that his side are facing a tough campaign in the Premier League next season.

Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway has admitted that his side have a lot of work to do if they are to stay in the Premier League.

The Eagles are back in the top flight for the first time since 1998 after winning the Championship playoff against Watford.

"I know we've got a lot of building to do," Holloway told the club's official website.

"I know what it's like to be a club that comes up late and we are not in the same echelons as the top half of this table that we are now in.

"It's like starting a marathon and they are 20 miles away. Are we going to catch them? That's the target."

Palace start the new season at home to Tottenham Hotspur on August 18.
