Former Crystal Palace manager Sam Allardyce is reportedly contemplating shelving plans for retirement in favour of a move to the MLS.

Sam Allardyce has reportedly decided to consider an opportunity to move to the MLS.

At the end of last season, Allardyce announced that he was stepping down from his role at Crystal Palace after keeping the club in the Premier League.

The former Eagles boss cited his reason as having no desire to remain in the dugout and that he intended to retire but according to The Sun, he may make a U-turn.

It has been suggested that the ex-England chief has been in contact with clubs in the United States ahead of possible chance to manage in the MLS.

Allardyce has only briefly managed outside of England - with Limerick at the start of his career - but it appears that he could have a decision to make in the coming weeks.

The 62-year-old spent a small period of his playing days in the USA, with 11 appearances being made for the Tampa Bay Rowdies in 1983.
