Newcastle United are reportedly set to allow current goalkeeper Martin Dubravka to leave the club this month in a move to the Saudi Pro League.
The Slovak international has started Newcastle's last six games, all of which have ended in victory, in the absence of Nick Pope, who is currently sidelined with injury.
However, Saudi outlet Aawsat Sport have stated that the SPL's Financial Sustainability Committee have given the green light for a move to Al Shabab to go ahead.
The move will not be completed immediately, though, because Newcastle are believed to have asked for permission for Dubravka to stay until after the Magpies' EFL Cup semi-final first leg against Arsenal on Tuesday.
Pope is set to return from injury later this month, with summer signing Odysseas Vlachodimos now set to move up the pecking order into second choice.

Liverpool's Ramsay bound for another loan move
Meanwhile, young Liverpool defender Calvin Ramsay is set for another loan move away from Anfield in the January transfer window.
Ramsay had spent the first half of this season on loan at fellow North West club Wigan Athletic, after also turning out for Preston North End and Bolton Wanderers last season.
The 21-year-old only made eight appearances for Wigan, and has since returned to Liverpool, with the club seeking for another suitor in which they hope the right-back can push on and evolve as a player.
According to Courier Sport, one of the clubs set to inquire about Ramsay's services are Scottish Premiership side St Johnstone, who sit rock bottom, seven points adrift, after a 3-1 defeat at home to Dundee earlier today, and have comfortably the leakiest defence in the division.
A born and bred Scot, Ramsay started his career in the Premiership with Aberdeen, but has not returned to his homeland since making the £4m move to Liverpool in 2022, where he is still yet to make a Premier League appearance.

Southampton's Onuachu set for a return to Turkey?
Elsewhere, reports in Turkey claim that Trabzonspor are set to enter discussions once again over signing Southampton striker Paul Onuachu this month.
The six-foot-seven striker spent last season on loan with the Super Lig club, scoring a very impressive 17 goals in 25 appearances.
However, Turkish outlet Gunebakis claim the club were put off pursuing a deal for the Nigerian in the summer due the €12m (£10m) price tag Southampton placed on the player.
Onuachu has become a regular starter at St Mary's since Ivan Juric took over late last month, but after a 5-0 defeat at home to Brentford this weekend, the Turkish club are hoping they can unsettle the player in order for Southampton to lower their asking price.
While it has been a very difficult campaign for the Saints, Trabzonspor are also performing well below expectations this season, sitting down in 14th, just three points from the relegation zone with the halfway stage on the horizon.
