The 33-year-old midfielder joined his former Ross County boss Jim McIntyre on Tayside in November and quickly became a key player, making nine appearances before the winter break.
McIntyre added to his squad on Saturday by signing another former County player, Craig Curran, from city rivals Dundee United.
