England drop 10 places in FIFA world rankings after World Cup

England fall 10 places to 20th in the FIFA world rankings after failing to progress past the group stage at the World Cup in Brazil this summer.

England have fallen 10 spots to 20th place in the FIFA world rankings following their unsuccessful World Cup campaign in Brazil.

Roy Hodgson's side failed to progress past the group stages in South America, finishing the campaign at the bottom of Group D with just one point.

As a result, the Three Lions now reside one spot below Bosnia-Herzegovina, while World Cup winners Germany have moved to the top of the list for the first time in around 20 years.

Finalists Argentina sit second in the table, while the Netherlands reside third and 2010 world champions Spain have fallen seven places to eighth.

Wales have dropped three spots to 44th place, Scotland remain 27th, the Republic of Ireland have kept their 70th place, and Northern Ireland move up one to 89th.
