John Arne Riise wants his Fulham teammates to work hard over the summer in order to improve for next season.

Fulham defender John Arne Riise has urged his teammates to work hard over the summer in order to improve for next season.

The Cottagers struggled at the end of the last campaign before finishing in 12th place in the Premier League table.

"We were really disappointed with how the season ended," Riise told the club's official website. "We need to work hard over the summer as there is definitely room for improvement next season.

"We'll have a good rest and then for the last two weeks of my holiday I'll train very hard so I come back for pre-season fit. I want next season to be the best for me personally and for the team."

Fulham's first pre-season fixture comes on July 14 against Costa Rican side CS Cartagines in San Jose.
