Fulham defender Fernando Amorebieta has revealed that he has "great enthusiasm" for the season ahead following his move from Athletic Bilbao.

The 28-year-old Venezuelan international recently arrived at Craven Cottage for free on a four-year deal.

"I had other options, but the best one was from Fulham," Amorebieta told Goal.com. "To be settled and living in London is a must.

"I have not yet been able to visit Fulham's training ground but I really want to meet my new teammates. I want to demonstrate the player that I am. I have great enthusiasm for this new adventure."

Fulham begin the new Premier League campaign at Sunderland on August 17.
