Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri not worried by criticism

Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri reveals that he is not concerned about criticism of his appointment at Nigel Pearson's successor at the King Power Stadium.

Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri has admitted that he is not worried about criticism of his appointment at the club.

Former Foxes striker Gary Lineker and former Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp revealed their surprise at the choice of the Midlands club's replacement for Nigel Pearson.

However, Ranieri is adamant that he is only focused on improving the team in all areas ahead of the new Premier League season.

He told reporters: "I understand but I will work hard to make changes. I respect everybody but now my problem is not Lineker or Redknapp, my focus is on Leicester.

"Look, for me work is very important. I love my job, I want to improve all my players, I want to improve everything. I think it is good when the field speaks - the games, the points we achieve, are important. Other things are not important.

"Also in Greece I wanted to build something but it's difficult to build on the sand."

Ranieri has outlined his ambition to keep experienced midfielder Esteban Cambiasso at the club following his successful 2014-15 campaign.
