Timo Werner is reportedly awarded a double-your-money contract by RB Leipzig to fend off interest from Liverpool and Bayern Munich.

RB Leipzig have reportedly made a final attempt to keep Timo Werner out of the clutches of Liverpool and Bayern Munich.

The German striker, the scorer of 11 goals in 18 league games this term, has so far decided against extending his contract at the Red Bull Arena, which has less than 18 months left to run.

Werner has attracted the interest of Premier League leaders Liverpool and Bundesliga rivals Bayern, but Bild suggests that Leipzig have not given up hope of keeping him in place.

In a last-ditch effort to ward off the two clubs, it is claimed that a new double-your-money contract - worth around £5.2m a year - has been awarded to the 22-year-old.

Should Werner put pen to paper, his release clause will apparently climb to £60m.
