Real Madrid reportedly plan a move for Liverpool's Fabinho, with the Brazilian said to be concerned about the direction that the Reds are heading in.

Real Madrid are reportedly plotting an audacious swoop for Liverpool midfielder Fabinho.

The former Monaco man - who has often been deployed as an emergency centre-back this term - has been one of Jurgen Klopp's key players this season with 23 Premier League starts, despite some frustrating injury problems.

However, Liverpool are running the risk of a season without Champions League football, and Fabinho is allegedly concerned about the current direction that the club is heading in.

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Fabinho may be open to a return to the Bernabeu, as the Brazil international spent one season on loan with Los Blancos in the 2012-13 campaign.

The report claims that a summer bid for Fabinho could be on the cards, with Zinedine Zidane supposedly identifying the Liverpool man as an ideal replacement for Raphael Varane.

Fabinho's existing deal at Anfield does not expire until the end of the 2022-23 season, and he has amassed 117 appearances for the club since arriving in 2018.
