AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi insists that the club will not allow Alexandre Pato to join Manchester City.

AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has insisted that the club will not allow Alexandre Pato to join Manchester City.

The English champions are said to be plotting a part-exchange offer for Pato, involving Mario Balotelli.

Berlusconi is known to be a keen admirer of Balotelli, however he has rubbished reports of a possible exit for Pato.

"An exchange involving Pat and Balotelli? I don't like exchanges," Berlusconi told Milan Channel.

"Pato is definitely not on the market. He is one of our best players and has the opportunity to become an icon here over many years.

"Unfortunately, his frequent injuries have been a problem, but we just need to handle him right. AC Milan is the perfect setting for him."

Pato has scored two goals in three Champions League appearances this season.
