Valencia reportedly open talks with Manchester City midfielder David Silva over a potential return to La Liga this summer.

Manchester City stalwart David Silva is reportedly in talks with former side Valencia over a potential return to La Liga this summer.

The midfielder has confirmed that he will depart the Etihad when his deal runs out in June, having scored 73 goals in 423 appearances for the Citizens since arriving in 2010.

David Beckham's MLS side Inter Miami has been touted as a possible destination for Silva, while AC Milan and Juventus have also been credited with an interest.

However, ESPN have reported that the 34-year-old has been in contact with Valencia over a return to the Mestalla, and the Spanish side have offered Silva a three-year deal.

The report also claims that the move has been complicated due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, with doubts arising over players whose contracts could expire before the season is able to reach a conclusion.

As a result, it is believed that Silva will either have to temporarily extend his deal with Pep Guardiola's side or leave when his contract runs out on June 30.

The former Spain international has chalked up three goals and seven assists in 19 Premier League appearances this term.
