Javier Hernandez has thanked Manchester United supporters for their "incredible support" following his move to Bayer Leverkusen.

The Mexico international ended a five-year spell at Old Trafford by signing a permanent deal with the German outfit on Monday.

Hernandez, who was brought to the Premier League club by former manager Sir Alex Ferguson, filtered down the pecking order in the last few seasons.

On Instagram, Hernandez wrote: "I want to thank Sir Alex Ferguson & Jim Lawlor, the club staff, all the players I played with, but specially I want to thank all the Manchester United fans in the UK and all around the world for the incredible support I've had this past 4 years and all the best wishes they have for me in my new chapter!! #MUFC #GGMU #2premierleagues #19&20 #60goals #85starts #thankyou."

Hernandez won the Premier League title twice during his time at United.
