Jose Mourinho's Manchester United move held up by image rights negotiations?

Manchester United have had to delay announcing Jose Mourinho as their new manager due to a conflict in interest over image rights, according to a report.

Jose Mourinho's impending move to Manchester United is reportedly being held up by a conflict of interest regarding personal endorsement deals between the two parties.

The former Chelsea boss is the heavy favourite to succeed Louis van Gaal, who was shown the exit at Old Trafford earlier this week following two largely disappointing campaigns at the helm.

Mourinho's appointment has yet to be confirmed by the Red Devils, however, which The Telegraph claims is purely down to complications over the club's commercial partnerships.

It is suggested that lawyers have been locked in negotiations, with Mourinho's deal with manufacturer Jaguar thought to be a particular sticking point.

This is down to United's own big-money sponsorship contract with Chevrolet, worth around £357m, but paperwork is expected to be completed over the coming days.

Mourinho, who was dismissed by Chelsea at the end of last year following a poor start to the Blues' title defence, has won eight league titles in four different countries as a manager.
