Park Ji-sung: Didier Drogba "not the same player"

Park Ji-sung claims that Didier Drogba is not the player he was ahead of Chelsea's visit to Old Trafford.

Manchester United ambassador Park Ji-sung has admitted that he is surprised to see Didier Drogba back at Chelsea this season, claiming that he is not the same player as he was during his last stint with the Blues.

There are doubt over the fitness of Diego Costa and Loic Remy, meaning that 36-year-old Drogba could lead the line for Jose Mourinho's side when they visit Old Trafford tomorrow.

"I am very surprised, maybe it's the effect of Jose Mourinho," Park told Manchester United's official website. "But when Drogba left Chelsea, nobody thought he would go back there again and yet it's happened. He's not like the player he was before but he knows Chelsea and he knows the Premier League and he's still got the quality to score goals as well.

"He's a good option for them and he's the kind of experienced player you need in a team. Some of the main players have changed but the way they play is not that different to when Jose Mourinho was there before.

"They are a strong team and they have shown their quality so far this season. They bought some good players this summer as well."

Drogba netted his first goal for Chelsea since making his return against Maribor in the Champions League this week.
