Louis van Gaal: 'We need a complete performance'

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal believes that his side need to improve from their win over Manchester City to beat Chelsea in their clash at Stamford Bridge.

Louis van Gaal has insisted that Manchester United will have to put in a complete performance to take all three points from their Premier League clash against Chelsea.

United are the form team in the top flight as they have won their last six matches on the spin, including their 4-2 victory over rivals Manchester City in their derby clash last week.

However, the Dutchman believes that his team will have to play even better to match the feat against Jose Mourinho's side at Stamford Bridge.

Van Gaal told reporters: "We are progressing and playing more like a team. There is more balance. I do believe that we can play very well but we haven't played very well for 90 minutes.

"First we have to play 90 minutes very well. Against City we didn't manage. It's because they know why they have to play in a certain way.

"You are capable but unconscious and I want them to be capable and conscious. Then, at the end, they are unconscious-capable, that they are doing it from their stomach. Now we have reached the point they're doing it as a team, not as an individual because football is a team sport, so that is the difference."

United face off against the Blues later today.
