Brandon Williams 'keen to leave Man United on loan'

Brandon Williams is still keen to spend a season on loan away from Manchester United despite Alex Telles's injury, according to a report.

Manchester United defender Brandon Williams is reportedly still hopeful of completing a loan move away from Old Trafford in the current transfer window.

The 20-year-old spent the 2020-21 campaign behind Luke Shaw and Alex Telles in the left-back pecking order, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka an undisputed starter for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at right-back.

Telles's recent ankle injury is expected to keep him sidelined for the remainder of August, and Solskjaer has hinted that Williams could be handed more opportunities while the former Porto man recovers.

However, the Manchester Evening News reports that Williams wants to spend the 2021-22 season on loan elsewhere in a bid to gain regular playing time.

Williams has previously been linked with the likes of Bayer Leverkusen, Southampton and Norwich City, although he penned a new deal at Old Trafford last summer until 2024 with the option of a further year.

The Englishman featured on 19 occasions for Man United last term, but he only started two games in the Premier League.
