Ryan Gravenberch says that he is willing to leave Bayern Munich this summer if it becomes apparent that he will remain on the periphery of the squad.

Ryan Gravenberch has acknowledged that he will look to leave Bayern Munich this summer if he is not regarded as an important player.

When Gravenberch left Ajax to move to the Allianz Arena last year, it was expected that the Netherlands international would make a seamless transition to life in Germany.

Instead, the 21-year-old endured a hugely frustrating campaign, surprisingly being limited to just five starts with a further 28 outings coming from the substitutes' bench.

Failing to make his mark in the Bundesliga led to him losing his spot in the Netherlands squad, missing out on selection for the UEFA Nations League finals this week.

As it stands, it is unclear whether he will receive more opportunities under Thomas Tuchel, who replaced Julian Nagelsmann at the end of March.

Although Gravenberch was not seen as first choice by his new boss, he did start versus FC Koln on the final day of the season, featuring for 71 minutes as Bayern won the Bundesliga title in dramatic fashion.

Amid speculation regarding his future, Gravenberch has been speaking to De Telegraaf, stressing his need for weekly football during 2023-24.

Gravenberch said: "I want to play more, preferably at Bayern. Otherwise at a club where I'll 100% play. That's my plan".

"I don't want to have another year like the one I've just had — I'll speak to the coach in the next weeks then we will see."

In total, Gravenberch played for just 937 minutes spread across his 33 outings, inevitably leading to speculation regarding his long-term future.

Liverpool have been credited with an interest in recent months as Jurgen Klopp looks to oversee a midfield rebuild with three players leaving on free transfers.

While Alexis Mac Allister has been signed from Brighton & Hove Albion, at least one more notable name will arrive for the centre of the pitch in due course.

Manchester United, managed by Gravenberch's former Ajax boss Erik ten Hag, will also be in the running for his signature should he become available on a loan or permanent basis.
