Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly not prepared to pay £50m for Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford.

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly not prepared to pay £50m for Marcus Rashford, with the French champions potentially pulling out of the race for the Manchester United forward.

Rashford has been left out of Man United's last four matchday squads, and the England international is widely expected to leave the 20-time English champions in the near future, potentially as early as January.

PSG are long-term admirers of the Red Devils academy product, with the Paris giants viewed as the favourites for the 27-year-old, who has scored seven times and registered three assists in 24 appearances at club level this term.

However, according to TEAMtalk, PSG have made it clear that they are unwilling to meet Man United's £50m asking price, while they are also reluctant to make a move due to Rashford's wages, which are in excess of £300,000 a week.

Rashford was again absent from the Man United squad against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Boxing Day, with Amorim revealing that nothing has changed regarding the forward's situation.

Rashford was again absent from Man United squad vs. Wolves

"It's always the same reason it's going to be," Amorim told Amazon Prime Video when asked about Rashford following the two-goal defeat to Wolves at Molineux on Thursday night.

"We have to be the same professionals, the same guys, winning or losing. Losing, I have to be stronger. I will continue with my idea until the end. If he's not here, you can make your mind up."

Rashford was originally left out of the Man United squad due to some underwhelming performances in training, while his behaviour around the Carrington training complex had also been called in to question.

The forward recently told journalist Henry Winter that he is looking to leave the Red Devils in the near future, "for a new challenge".

"For me, personally, I think I'm ready for a new challenge and the next steps," he told Winter. "When I leave it's going to be 'no hard feelings'. You're not going to have any negative comments from me about Manchester United. That's me as a person.

"If I know that a situation is already bad I'm not going to make it worse. I've seen how other players have left in the past and I don't want to be that person. When I leave I'll make a statement and it will be from me."

Which other clubs are interested in Rashford?

Due to Rashford's significant wages, a permanent exit in January will be difficult, but it is possible that the forward could depart on loan when the winter transfer window opens for business.

Atletico Madrid are allegedly keen on a loan deal, while teams from the Saudi Pro League are said to be keeping a close eye on his situation.

Fenerbahce, who are managed by ex-Red Devils head coach Jose Mourinho, are said to be monitoring developments, although the cost of the deal will make it difficult for the Turkish outfit.

Amorim must now decide whether to recall Rashford for Monday's Premier League clash against Newcastle United, with Man United bidding to avoid a third straight Premier League defeat.
