Monday's Championship predictions including Rotherham vs. Wycombe

Sports Mole provides score predictions for all of Monday's Championship fixtures, including Rotherham United vs. Wycombe Wanderers.

Middlesbrough vs. Watford (Monday, 12.30pm)

Watford's Ismaila Sarr pictured on November 4, 2020© Reuters

Watford will be looking to tighten their grip on an automatic promotion spot in the Championship when they travel to top-six chasing Middlesbrough on Monday afternoon.

The Hornets have won six games in a row to open up a healthy gap on the chasing pack, while Boro have lost back-to-back matches to lose ground on the playoffs.

We say: Middlesbrough 0-1 Watford

Watford have won six games in a row, whereas Middlesbrough's promotion charge has halted with back-to-back losses on their travels.

Boro have won none of their last eight league games against Watford, meanwhile, and have failed to even score in the last four of those, so we are going with an away win here.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a draw or an away win.

Blackburn vs. Bournemouth (Monday, 3.00pm)

Bournemouth will be looking to break back into the Championship playoff spots when they travel to Blackburn Rovers on Monday afternoon.

The Cherries made it back-to-back league wins with victory over Middlesbrough on Friday, while Blackburn's poor run continued with a 1-0 loss at bottom side Wycombe Wanderers.

We say: Blackburn Rovers 0-2 Bournemouth

Bournemouth have found some momentum in the league with back-to-back wins, albeit either side of a disappointing FA Cup exit, while Blackburn have won just once since January.

The Cherries have not lost a league game on Easter Monday since April 2009, meanwhile, winning four and drawing two, which is a run we can see them extending with victory here.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.

Coventry vs. Bristol City (Monday, 3.00pm)

Coventry City and Bristol City will both be aiming to bounce back from demoralising defeats when they lock horns at the Ricoh Arena in the Championship on Monday afternoon.

Mark Robins's side were brushed aside by Queens Park Rangers 3-0 on Good Friday, while Bristol City suffered an equally dampening 2-0 home defeat to Stoke City last time out.

We say: Coventry City 0-1 Bristol City

Both Coventry and Bristol City ought to feel confident about ending their goalscoring droughts in this battle, but recent injuries have left Robins and Pearson with more selection headaches to contend with. The hosts' stellar defensive record at home and the visitors' strong recent away run should make for a fascinating battle - one which we eventually expect Bristol City to prevail in - but it will certainly be close.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.

Luton vs. Barnsley (Monday, 3.00pm)

Luton Town and Barnsley will both be aiming to return to winning ways in the Championship when they do battle at Kenilworth Road on Monday afternoon.

The hosts fell to a 2-0 defeat to Derby County in their most recent outing, while Barnsley's Good Friday fixture ended in a 1-1 stalemate with Reading.

We say: Luton Town 1-2 Barnsley

On another day, Barnsley could have easily taken all three points against fellow promotion hopefuls Reading, and Ismael will feel confident in his side's ability to right the wrongs of Good Friday's draw here. Luton define inconsistency at home, but they are more than capable of giving the Tykes a good run for their money, although their efforts may end up proving futile as Ismael's side seek to get their playoff charge back on track.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a draw or an away win.

Nott'm Forest vs. QPR (Monday, 3.00pm)

Nottingham Forest and Queens Park Rangers do battle on Monday at the City Ground, with both sides looking to build on victories on Good Friday.

The hosts broke a six-game winless run with a victory over Cardiff City, moving them up to 16th spot in the Championship table, while QPR comfortably defeated Coventry City at home to maintain their top-half position.

We say: Nottingham Forest 0-2 Queens Park Rangers

While the hosts did secure a win last time out to boost their confidence, we see the momentum of QPR carrying them to another victory to extend their strong run of form.

The Reds are a strong defensive outfit, but the attacking threat posed by Dykes, Austin and Chair should be enough to break through.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.

Reading vs. Derby (Monday, 3.00pm)

Reading play host to Derby County on Monday afternoon potentially requiring all three points to remain in the Championship playoff positions.

Meanwhile, Derby head into this contest sitting eight points clear of the relegation zone courtesy of their 2-0 win over Luton Town.

We say: Reading 2-1 Derby County

Having defeated Luton on Good Friday, Rooney and his squad will feel that they can perform with an extra degree of freedom. However, that may work against them, and we feel that the Royals have enough quality in the final third to edge this contest by the odd goal in three.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or draw.

Rotherham vs. Wycombe (Monday, 3.00pm)

Rotherham United welcome Wycombe Wanderers to the New York Stadium on Monday afternoon looking to move closer to edging outside of the Championship relegation zone.

While the Millers are four points adrift of safety with several games in hand, the visitors are nine points behind 21st-placed Coventry City.

We say: Rotherham United 2-1 Wycombe Wanderers

Against one of their direct rivals, Wycombe have little choice but to push for all three points in Yorkshire. Nevertheless, with the added motivation of remaining well ahead of their opponents, we are backing Rotherham to edge a close contest.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Stoke vs. Millwall (Monday, 3.00pm)

Something has to give at the bet365 Stadium on Monday afternoon as Stoke City and Millwall both look to extend their winning streaks in the Championship.

Both sides have won back-to-back league matches and are locked on the same number of points in mid-table, with the top six not yet out of reach.

We say: Stoke City 0-0 Millwall

Stoke and Millwall have won back-to-back matches and they are level on points in the table, making this one very tough to call.

Both sides have strong defensive records of late, while three of the last four league meetings between Stoke and Millwall have ended goalless, so we are backing a stalemate here.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or draw.

Swansea vs. Preston (Monday, 3.00pm)

Swansea City manager Steve Cooper pictured in February 2021© Reuters

Swansea City will look to get their promotion bid back on track on Monday when they welcome Preston North End to the Liberty Stadium.

A dip in form has seen the Swans fall well behind the top two in the Championship table, with nine points now separating them from second-placed Watford, while Preston will play their second game without Alex Neil as manager, after the Scotsman departed prior to the international break.

We say: Swansea City 1-1 Preston North End

Preston North End have reason to be positive after their first game under McAvoy, while Swansea are in a concerning run of form which has seen them lose all momentum.

As a result, we see the visitors sealing an impressive result on Monday, with Swansea extending their winless run to four matches.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Sheff Weds vs. Cardiff (Monday, 5.30pm)

Two sides in identical form face off at Hillsborough on Monday evening as relegation-threatened Sheffield Wednesday host top-six chasing Cardiff City.

Wednesday remain inside the bottom three after losing 1-0 to Watford on Friday, while Cardiff went down 1-0 to Nottingham Forest to leave their promotion hopes hanging by a thread.

We say: Sheffield Wednesday 1-1 Cardiff City

Sheffield Wednesday won 2-0 at Cardiff on the opening weekend of the season and are seeking a first league double in this fixture since 1983-84.

Cardiff were 2-1 winners the last time the sides met at Hillsborough, meanwhile, and could win consecutive league games there for the first time since 1976.

Ultimately, though, we can see two sides in identical form cancelling each other out in this Easter Monday clash.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.
