Newcastle United manager Steve Bruce will reportedly be given until the end of the season to prove himself to the club's potential new owners.

Newcastle United manager Steve Bruce is reportedly expected to remain at St James' Park until at least the end of the season.

With Mike Ashley said to be close to selling the Magpies to a Saudi Arabia-based consortium, there has been frequent speculation regarding Bruce's future.

Rafael Benitez, Massimiliano Allegri and Mauricio Pochettino have all been linked with the North-East outfit since the start of April.

However, Sky Sports News claims that the prospective new owners have no plans to part company with Bruce before the end of the campaign.

Providing that the closing nine games of the Premier League are played out, Bruce will be given those fixtures to convince the new hierarchy that he is the right man to take charge of Newcastle next season.

Bruce has recorded 12 wins and 12 defeats from his 35 matches in the dugout.
