Steve Bruce will reportedly remain as Newcastle United manager, regardless of whether a potential takeover of the club is completed in the coming weeks.

Newcastle United manager Steve Bruce is reportedly in line to keep his job at St James' Park.

Since it emerged that the Magpies were close to being sold to a Saudi Arabia-backed consortium, it has been claimed that Bruce is likely to be replaced in the dugout.

While former boss Rafael Benitez is regarded as the bookmakers favourite, ex-Juventus chief Massimiliano Allegri is also said to be a potential replacement.

However, the Daily Mail suggests that there are currently no plans for Bruce to be removed from his position at the North-East outfit.

In his first season in charge, Bruce has guided Newcastle to 13th position in the Premier League table with nine games remaining, eight points above the relegation zone.
