Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew predicts that Nile Ranger's conduct will prevent the striker from forcing his way back into the first team.

Alan Pardew has claimed that Nile Ranger will not be recalled to the Newcastle United first team unless he arrives on time for every training session during the next six weeks.

Ranger was convicted of assault by Newcastle Crown Court on Monday and Pardew believes that the striker is letting the team down with his conduct.

The Magpies manager said: "This guy is late so often, it is unbelievable. He's still at this football club and we're still trying to do something with him.

"But he will still not get back in the team unless he has a period of six weeks where he isn't late. I don't think it is going to happen.

"It is important, I'm not going to let him train with my first team because he is letting the other players down."

Ranger had loan spells at Barnsley and Sheffield Wednesday last season.
