Queens Park Rangers sack Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink

Queens Park Rangers part company with manager Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink after just 11 months in charge.

Queens Park Rangers have sacked manager Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink after 11 months in charge.

The Dutchman joined the Hoops in December 2015 but only managed to win 14 of his 47 games at the helm, drawing 18 and losing 15.

His final match in charge saw QPR hit an 85th-minute equaliser to rescue a point away to Nottingham Forest in the Championship.

The result leaves Rangers 17th in the table, just six points clear of the relegation zone having won just two of their last 11 games.

"The club appreciates Jimmy's efforts during his time in charge and wishes him all the best for the future," read a statement on the club's official website.

"Owing to the international break, the first team squad will return to training on Wednesday. A further update regarding the club's managerial situation will be made in due course."

QPR's next match sees them take on Norwich City after the international break.
