Team News: Gareth Bale makes first Real Madrid start since mid-January for Roma clash

Gareth Bale makes his first start for Real Madrid since mid-January for their Champions League last-16 second leg against Roma at the Bernabeu.

Gareth Bale has been handed his first Real Madrid start since mid-January for tonight's Champions League last-16 second leg against Roma at the Bernabeu.

Marcelo has also returned to the fold after recovering from injury at the weekend, while Luka Modric and Toni Kroos have been included in the lineup after sitting out of Real's 7-1 win over Celta Vigo.

Cristiano Ronaldo will provide Madrid's main attacking threat, with Bale, Kroos and James Rodriguez sitting behind, while Casemiro has kept his spot in the middle of the park.

As for Roma, Ervin Zukanovic has joined Kostas Manolas in the heart of defence due to centre-back Antonio Rudiger being sidelined with a thigh injury.

Miralem Pjanic and Seydou Keita will sit in midfield, while Edin Dzeko will lead the line for Roma, who are also without Daniele De Rossi.

Real Madrid: Navas; Marcelo, Pepe, Ramos, Danilo; Casemiro, Modric; Kroos, James, Bale; Ronaldo
Subs: Casilla, Varane, Carvajal, Kovacic, Lucas, Jese, Isco

Roma: Szczesny; Florenzi, Manolas, Zukanovic, Digne; Pjanic, Keita; Salah, Perotti, El Shaarawy; Dzeko
