Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti says that his side will not be signing any new players during the January transfer window.

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has insisted that his side will not be making any signings during the January transfer window.

Los Blancos only brought in two players for their first team over the summer, with Aurelien Tchouameni arriving in a big-money deal from Monaco, while Antonio Rudiger made the move on a free transfer from Chelsea.

Real Madrid continue to be linked with a number of potential new signings, and recent reports have claimed that the club could be active in the winter market.

However, Ancelotti, speaking ahead of Sunday's La Liga clash with Girona, has said that his side are "not interested" in the January window.

"We're not thinking about the winter window. We're not interested in it. This is the squad we'll have until the end of the season. It won't change," Ancelotti told reporters on Saturday.

Real Madrid are already through to the knockout round of the Champions League but are yet to top the section and will need to beat Celtic at home next week to guarantee themselves first position in Group F.

Los Blancos are also at the top of La Liga, boasting 31 points from their opening 11 matches, which has left them three points clear of second-placed Barcelona.

Real Madrid will be bidding to make it five straight league wins against Girona, but the champions will again be without the services of Karim Benzema due to muscular fatigue.

"He trained, but didn't feel comfortable and it all went well. He doesn't have a problem, but we need to keep in mind the player's feeling. He still doesn't feel 100%, said Ancelotti during his press conference.

"Girona play good football and they like to have the ball. They're well organised offensively. We'll need to defend well against them. We need to be focused from the very start. After losing to RB Leipzig, we want to win this one."

Ancelotti also confirmed that Luka Modric, Dani Ceballos, Federico Valverde and Mariano Diaz would be back in the squad against Girona following recent injuries.

"Karim Benzema won't be back in time, but we do have Luka Modric, Dani Ceballos, Fede Valverde, Mariano and Rodrygo, who had a small issue but who'll be available tomorrow," said the Italian.

Ancelotti is expecting "a tough challenge" from Barcelona when it comes to the title race this season, with the Catalan outfit potentially focusing on the competition following their Champions League exit.

"It's clear to me that Barcelona are going to be our main title challengers until the very end of the season. It'll be a tough challenge to beat them," said the head coach.

Real Madrid have four more matches before the campaign breaks for the World Cup, taking on Girona, Celtic, Rayo Vallecano and Cadiz, and they will then not be back in action until the end of December.
