Tottenham Hotspur have made a bid for Rennes midfielder Yann M'Vila.
The offer is thought to be around £12.7m with add-ons, but Rennes are reportedly holding out for a straight £15m bid.
The 22-year-old has rejected moves to both Zenit St Petersburg and Shakhtar Donetsk in favour of moving to England, with White Hart Lane the most likely destination.
However, the two clubs are yet to agree a fee for the player, and Spurs could face interest from both Newcastle United and Everton, according to reports in France.
Spurs are looking for added options in central midfield due to the impending departure of Luka Modric and possible losses of both Tom Huddlestone and Rafael van der Vaart.
M'Vila, who operates in a more defensive role than Modric and Van der Vaart, joined Rennes in 2009, making 110 appearances for the French club in that time.
