West Bromwich Albion technical director Dan Ashworth has claimed that the club are prepared to reject summer bids for defender Jonas Olsson even if it means losing the player on a free transfer in a year's time.
The 29-year-old centre-back has 12 months remaining on his contract at the Hawthorns and has reportedly attracted interest from Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United in recent weeks.
Ashworth told the Wolverhampton Express & Star: "There wasn't a huge outlay on a transfer fee so we don't need to make a huge amount of money back if we decided to run the contract down.
"We would have to weigh it up and decide whether there is a transfer offer that meets the value of getting a replacement.
"It's a difficult one to answer because we haven't had any offers and I don't want to sell him."
Olsson, who featured for the full 90 minutes as Sweden overcame France 2-0 in Warsaw on Tuesday, joined the Baggies from NEC Nijmegen for a transfer fee of £800,000 in 2008.
