West Bromwich Albion to hold talks with Jonas Olsson

Steve Clarke reveals that West Bromwich Albion will sit down with Jonas Olsson to try to convince the Sweden international to stay at the Hawthorns.

West Bromwich Albion manager Steve Clarke has admitted that he is eager to keep hold of "key player" Jonas Olsson.

The 29-year-old, who was knocked out of Euro 2012 with Sweden this week, has been linked with a transfer to newly-promoted Premier League side West Ham United.

"I didn't want to intrude too much because Jonas was out there representing his country and it was a big tournament for him," Clarke told the Wolverhampton Express and Star.

"Hopefully between now and the report back for training date, I'll get the chance to meet him and have a chat with him.

"Ideally, I want to keep all the contracted players and bring in another two or three that can help them. Jonas is a key player for the team and the club, and I'll do what I can to keep him here."

Olsson has also been a reported interest of Tottenham Hotspur, who are yet to appoint Harry Redknapp's successor.
