Wolves: ‘Pulis for Manager of the Year’

Mick McCarthy and Karl Henry praise Stoke’s manager ahead of tonight’s match.

Mick McCarthy and Karl Henry have voiced praise for Tony Pulis ahead of Wolves’ meeting with Stoke tonight.

The Wolves pair have tipped the head of the FA Cup finalists for Manager of the Year in light of this season’s performance, Sky Sports reports.

"He's got a vote of mine anyway," said manager McCarthy. "And he's got to Wembley by trying to avoid it all the time but the onus was always staying up."

Wolves captain Henry, whom Pulis sold upon his arrival to Stoke, added: “He could well have a shout to be Manager of the Year. Maybe people are starting to give him the credit he deserves."

"It's going to be an ugly, dirty game with both sides kicking lumps out of each other,” he said of tonight’s fixture at Britannia Stadium. "Stoke do it their way. They are horrible to play against and that's credit to Tony."

The teams have met twice so far this season, taking one win apiece. Wolves lie 19th in the Premiership, one point ahead of West Ham.
