Martin O'Neill expects there to be interest in Stephane Sessegnon after admitting that the Benin international is feeling homesick.

Sunderland manager Martin O'Neill expects that there will be plenty of summer interest in homesick forward Stephane Sessegnon.

The Benin international has been an integral figure for the Black Cats in their turnaround in fortunes since the Irishman's appointment in December.

O'Neill admits that the former Paris Saint-Germain player's difficulties with life in England have become an issue, but insists that the club will do everything they can to resolve the problem and keep Sessegnon on Wearside.

"We wouldn't want to lose Sessegnon because of homesickness," he said.

"His family concerns are something we really have to look at now. We have someone at the club who's in constant touch with Sess and we will do everything we can.

"He is going to attract an awful lot of attention from big clubs."

Sessegnon has scored seven goals in 32 appearances for Sunderland this season.
