West Ham United midfielder Kevin Nolan believes that his team have ambitions beyond just staying in the Premier League this season after going five matches unbeaten.

West Ham United midfielder Kevin Nolan believes that the strength in depth at Upton Park means that the Hammers are aiming to do more than just survive this season.

Sam Allardyce's side made it five games unbeaten in the top flight with a 2-1 victory away at Queens Park Rangers on Monday night, which lifts West Ham to seventh in the Premier League table.

Nolan told Sky Sports News that being able to bring great players on from the bench at important times will be crucial to West Ham's cause this season.

He said: "I'm absolutely delighted with the win tonight, we were fantastic in the first half and second half we dug in and could have won it by more. I think a big thanks this summer must go the chairman, they've helped the gaffer get the quality players that we've signed from day one.

"Players like Mohammed Diame, Jussi Jaaskalinen and Andy Carroll. I don't want to leave anyone out but you can see with the quality we had on the bench tonight we expect better than just staying up, but it's alright saying it we've got to make sure that we do.

"Tonight we proved that we are gonna be tough to beat and we are looking forward to a steady season and to push on in the next few years."

Nolan has three league goals from midfield to lead West Ham in the scoring charts at this early stage of the season.
