Rory McIlroy has targeted more success in major tournaments following his victory in the PGA Championship at Wentworth on Sunday.
The Northern Irishman has found form at a crucial stage of the season, and the two-time Major winner will now head to the US Open next month full of confidence in his improving game.
"I think this victory here, against a great field, one of the best fields of the year, sort of cements that and shows where my game is and that I'm on the right track again," McIlroy told members of the press.
"Hopefully it won't be long before I'm contending in Majors and having a chance to win those again.
"I think it's the start of something. I could feel my game sort of bubbling and it was getting there. A win validates that."
McIlroy climbed to sixth when the latest world rankings were released on Monday.
